Peter Radelfinger is obsessed with collecting texts and images in print and online media. He not only searches for poems and diagrams, but also for mathematical formulas, ads for pajamas, pictures of chimps and gorllas. In Falsche Fährten the artist categorizes his treasures and makes them accesible. He reveals his universe that consists of highly relevant and ridiculously trivial things. Falsche Fährten is a bundle, a respectable body that aims to show the world through the eyes of an artist who collects obsessively.
Peter Radelfinger was born in Bern in 1953 and soon, after nearly thirty years, he is looking forward to retiring from teaching at Zurich University of the Arts. The artist focuses on drawing, animation, found texts and images that are shown in exhibitions, performances and publications. Edition Patrick Frey will be publishing another book with Peter Radelfinger in 2016 that documents his thirty-year teaching experience.
