Dear diary. A diary is always dear. And what am I?
How was I today? How was I back then? How would I like to be? What will I become?
Girl stuff. You bet. Tatjana Gerhard was once a girl like many others. And she wrote a diary. She used her diaries from age 12–15 (1968–1969) to create this book, complementing and re-editing them.
"I used my old diary as a raw material and then actually created a new one. I did not want the new book to primarily mirror my own personal story. I wanted it to represent girls' experience on a more universal level. I collected what and how I drew; I created new drawings; I collected material from magazines. Thus, I soon had quite a lot of visual material at my disposal." (Tatjana Gerhard on Herzklopfen)
