Gustav Mesmer
Biography
Gustav Mesmer was born in Ravensburg, Germany on January 16, 1903, the sixth of twelve siblings. By an unfortunate coincidence, Mesmer was admitted to the psychiatric ward in 1929. His isolation was to last a total of 35 years. His dream of being able to fly from village to village under his own power saved him over this long period. Today, tens of thousands of people admire the inventions and ideas of Gustav Mesmer, who would have turned 100 in January 2003.
