Since 2000, Patrick Graf has been working every day on his yet-to-befinished saga of 3,000 pages about the fictive Ypsilonic age (“Ypsilon” is the German name of the letter y). The first three of eight books are now available.
Using drawings and documented correspondence, Graf describes an imaginary era set in the present as a parallel universe to his own. The protagonists are the robot named Smoke and Dr. Y, its creator. An enjoyable, eccentric journey on both narrative and formal levels.
